Cristal Roederer 2016
Cristal Roederer 2016: The Expression of Purity and Harmony
Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer is one of the last great Champagne houses to remain family-owned and independent. Renowned for its visionary approach and dedication to excellence, the house cultivates its own vineyards with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture. Its iconic cuvée, Cristal, was first created in 1876 at the request of Tsar Alexander II, who desired an exceptional champagne presented in a crystal-clear bottle. Today, Cristal remains one of the most prestigious champagnes in the world, produced only in the finest vintages.
Cristal 2016 is crafted from a meticulous selection of the finest terroirs in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs, exclusively classified as Grand Crus. Partially vinified in oak, it undergoes extended ageing on lees for six years, followed by additional cellar rest after disgorgement. With an Extra Brut dosage (7 g/L), this champagne showcases remarkable purity and precision.
Cristal 2016 displays a radiant golden hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose reveals candied citrus, white flowers, and fresh almonds, complemented by brioche and delicate iodine notes. The palate is silky and refined, unveiling a creamy texture with a crystalline mineral core. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a vibrant freshness and great finesse.
Cristal 2016 enhances sophisticated dishes such as Oscietra caviar, lobster carpaccio, or truffle-infused poultry, showcasing its precision and aromatic depth.
