Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion 2017, the estate's second wine, embodies the gravelly terroir of Pessac-Léognan. This red wine, dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, offers aromas of dark fruits and spices, refined in barrels. Velvety, mineral palate, perfect with roasted meats or aged cheeses.
Château La Mission Haut-Brion
Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries, combining family tradition and viticultural precision.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and gravelly soils, typical of the appellation, endowing the wines with a distinctive minerality and structured elegance.
- Winemaking : Meticulous aging in oak barrels, respecting the balance between power and finesse, for cuvées of great purity.
Tasting Notes for Château La Mission Haut-Brion Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion 2017
To the eye – A deep cherry-red robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First, aromas of ripe red fruits (redcurrant, blackberry), followed by touches of violet, liquorice and a subtle woody note, lifted by a characteristic saline hint from the gravels.
On the palate – An ample and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, ending on a long and slightly taut finish where elegant tannins and aromatic persistence intertwine.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
Vintage 2017
A vintage marked by climatic challenges, yet where the estate's rigour allowed the expression of a wine of beautiful tension and promising structure.
- Aging Potential : To be cellared for 8 to 12 years in a cool and humid cellar, away from temperature variations.
