Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this exceptional estate has embodied Bordeaux elegance for centuries, driven by the exacting standards of the Dillon family.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and clayey gravels, where the well-drained gravelly soils impart a distinctive minerality and unique tension to the wines.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of noble grape varieties, aged in oak barrels for a harmony between power and finesse, without ever sacrificing the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2003
- To the eye : A deep garnet red robe, of silky density, where the ripeness of the tannins and the richness of the vintage can already be sensed.
- On the nose : First notes of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant, followed by a touch of blonde tobacco, patinated cedar, and a mineral hint recalling the damp chalk of the subsoils.
- On the palate : A velvety yet taut texture, where a lively acidity supports a palette of soft spices, licorice, and stewed dark fruits, leading to a saline finish of remarkable length.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.

A vintage marked by early heat and summer drought, offering wines of rare concentration, where the ripeness of the tannins rivals an unsuspected freshness.
