The Côte Rôtie La Landonne 1996 from E. Guigal, sourced from the gneiss and loess soils of the Côte Blonde, blends Syrah (89%) and Viognier (11%). Aged 42 months in oak barrels, it reveals aromas of dark fruits and spices. Its silky, mineral palate pairs beautifully with game and cheeses.

Tasting Notes for Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Landonne 1996
To the eye – A garnet red robe with brick-red reflections, of silky density, revealing perfect maturity and a velvety texture.
On the nose – First, notes of fresh violet and wild blackberry, then deeper aromas of liquorice, cocoa and blonde tobacco, lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate – A supple and fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a gneissic minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish where soft spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its aromatic complexity.
