The Volnay 1er Cru Clos du Château des Ducs 2023 from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Pinot Noir sourced from calcareous soils in Volnay. Cultivated biodynamically, it captivates with its aromas of red fruits, its chalky minerality and silky texture. Aged in old barrels, it pairs beautifully with roasted meats and can be cellared for 10 to 15 years.

To the eye – Deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose – Aromas of fresh morello cherry, wild violet and damp undergrowth, lifted by a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky salinity, evoking the limestone soils of the clos.
On the palate – A precise and taut attack, where a lively acidity and chalky minerality unfold, wrapped in silky fine-grained tannins; the finish, long and saline, leaves an impression of purity and elegance.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full aromatic complexity.
