Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2019
In the glass: A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of velvety texture and crystalline clarity, heralding a wine that is at once dense and airy.
On the nose: Aromas of black plum and fresh blackcurrant intertwine with notes of peony and raw cacao, lifted by a saline touch and a stony minerality evoking the limestone soils of the Clos.
On the palate: A silky attack and powdery tannins, carried by a lively acidity that structures a complex aromatic palette, while a long, fragrant finish leaves lingering nuances of soft spices and undergrowth.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to unlock its full complexity.
