The Volnay 1er Cru Clos du Château des Ducs 2008, a monopole of Domaine Michel Lafarge, expresses a clay-limestone terroir of Volnay. This Pinot Noir reveals cherry, violet and undergrowth, with a lively and mineral palate. To be cellared for 10 to 15 years, it pairs beautifully with truffled poultry or aged cheeses.

To the eye – A ruby robe with garnet highlights, of silky density and crystalline clarity.
On the nose – Freshness of morello cherry and crunchy raspberry, evolving toward notes of faded violet and damp undergrowth, underlined by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate – Velvety and taut texture, where lively acidity mingles with a stony minerality, extended by a long, spiced finish marked by silky tannins.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its complex aromas.

A vintage of tension and freshness, where the balance between ripeness and acidity lends this Volnay a classic structure and great precision.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years in a cool, humid cellar, sheltered from temperature fluctuations.
