The Château Mouton Rothschild 2012 Double Magnum 3L, Premier Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac, reveals a gravel terroir. This 2012, aged 20 months in new oak, marries dark fruits, vanilla and spices. Its palate, dense and fresh, unveils precise tannins. Ideal until 2040, it accompanies rich dishes.
Pauillac has embodied Bordeaux excellence since 1855, a family estate where artistic boldness meets the Rothschild viticultural heritage.
- Terroir: 82 hectares of deep gravel in the Pauillac AOC, where the pebbles store heat to reveal the quintessence of Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Vinification: Aging in new oak barrels for 20 months, a blend of tradition and precision for wines of an unforgettable structure.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2012 Double Magnum 3L
On the eye – A deep purple robe, almost black, with brilliant reflections like velvet in the light, heralding a dense and generous substance.
On the nose – First aromas of blackcurrant and crushed blackberry, followed by more enveloping notes of cigar box, roasted cocoa and a saline touch reminiscent of the estuary's sea spray.
On the palate – A silky and fleshy texture, carried by precise tannins and a lively acidity, where vanilla, candied dark fruits and a chalky minerality intertwine, for a long and fresh finish.
Serve at 16–18 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
