From the gravel soils of Pauillac, Château Mouton Rothschild 2014 (Premier Grand Cru Classé) blends Cabernet Sauvignon (81%), Merlot (16%) and Cabernet Franc (3%). Nose of ripe fruits and vanilla. Velvety palate, fine tannins and mineral finish. Perfect for 10-20 years with red meats or cheeses.
A historic pillar of the Médoc, this family estate has embodied the excellence of Pauillac for generations.
- Terroir: 82 hectares of stony gravel on the banks of the Gironde, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives under a temperate oceanic climate.
- Vinification: Careful aging in oak barrels, combining tradition and precision to reveal the purity of the fruit and the mineral complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2014
To the eye: a deep red color with violet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a generous and silky substance.
On the nose: aromas of ripe blackcurrant intertwine with notes of cedar, liquorice and vanilla, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate: a velvety attack unfolds into a satiny texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, for a long and elegant finish, where soft spices and a lingering freshness mingle.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2014
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights preserved the brightness of the aromas and the tension of the tannins.
- Aging potential: 20 to 30 years, to be stored in a cellar at a stable temperature (12-14°C) and away from light.
