Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 2000
Appearance – A garnet robe of remarkable density, with deep highlights and a silky texture, like liquid velvet capturing the light.
On the nose – First, aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by more enveloping notes of cedar, liquorice and roasted espresso, before a saline and mineral touch comes to underscore the complexity of the bouquet.
On the palate – A broad and generous attack, carried by fine and tight tannins, a lively acidity that brings tension and freshness, while nuances of tobacco, truffle and dark fruits extend into a remarkably long finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
