Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Baron 1999
To the eye: Deep garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of silky density and velvety brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, blonde tobacco and a hint of graphite, lifted by a subtle chalky saltiness.
On the palate: Full and fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and tannins that are still firm but well-integrated, with a long, mineral finish marked by gentle spices.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
