The Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 1928, a jewel of Pauillac, is drawn from the gravelly soils of Bordeaux. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals notes of dark fruits, tobacco, and cedar. Powerful and precise, it combines freshness and minerality. Best enjoyed with red meats or aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate embodies the excellence of the Grand Crus Classés of Bordeaux, combining tradition and precision since the 19th century.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and clay-limestone soils of Pauillac, shaping wines of noble structure and distinctive minerality.
- Vinification : A meticulous aging in oak barrels, respecting the balance between power and elegance, for cuvées of remarkable longevity.
To the eye: A garnet-red robe with tawny highlights, dense and velvety, revealing accomplished maturity and a silky texture.
On the nose: Aromas of candied blackcurrant, cedar, and blond tobacco intertwine, lifted by a hint of graphite and a subtle saline note, the hallmark of Pauillac's great terroirs.
On the palate: A full, fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a still-present tannic structure, leading to a long, mineral finish where nuances of licorice and aged leather unfold.
Serve between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by perfect grape maturity, offering rare concentration and a tannic structure of great finesse.
- Aging potential : Although already at its peak, this wine can still be cellared for several more decades under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
