Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Baron 1986
- The eye : Deep garnet-red robe with brick-tinged reflections, dense and silky, betraying accomplished maturity while retaining a brilliant vivacity.- On the nose : Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and black cherry intertwine with notes of cedar, blonde tobacco and a hint of graphite, while a subtle saltiness evokes the Atlantic breezes of the Médoc.- On the palate : A broad, velvety attack, carried by precise acidity and silky yet still present tannins, leading to a long, mineral finish where gentle spices and candied fruits intertwine.
Serving temperature: 16–18°C – Bordeaux glass to enhance its aromatic complexity.
