The Château Mouton Rothschild 2003, Premier Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac, from Médoc gravels, blends Cabernet Sauvignon (76%) and Merlot. Aged in new barrels, it reveals blackcurrant, cedar and spices, a velvety palate and a persistent finish. Ideal until 2040 with beef and game.
A symbol of Bordeaux excellence, this family estate has embodied since 1853 the alliance between viticultural tradition and artistic boldness.
- Terroir : 82 hectares of pebbly gravels on the plateau of Pauillac, where the well-drained soils and microclimate shape Cabernet Sauvignons of rare intensity.
- Vinification : Meticulous aging in new barrels, respecting the balance between power and elegance, the timeless signature of Mouton.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2003
On the eye – A deep garnet robe with ruby reflections, of a silky density and a brilliance that already announces its complexity.
On the nose – First notes of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, then hints of cedar and blonde tobacco, before revealing a mineral touch of graphite and a vanilla note.
On the palate – The attack is frank, carried by velvety tannins and a lively acidity; the texture unfolds in successive layers of dark fruits, soft spices and havana, for a long, saline finish where a chalky elegance persists.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.

A vintage marked by intense summer heat, offering fleshy and generous wines, while retaining the classic structure of Pauillac.
- Aging potential : To enjoy until 2040, provided it is stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
