The Ponsot Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes 2019, a Burgundian Grand Cru, is born from old vines on clay-limestone soils. To the eye – A deep purple robe of silky density, where light refracts into garnet reflections.
On the nose – First aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, then notes of liquorice and candied orange peel, before a saline touch and a hint of damp undergrowth.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long finish where gentle spices and a persistent salinity intertwine.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.
