The Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 from Domaine Armand Rousseau, born on the clay-limestone soils of Chambertin, embodies the elegance of Pinot Noir. Aged in new barrels, it combines red fruits, liquorice and minerality. On the palate, its silky texture and freshness make it a wine for cellaring, ideal until 2035.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate has embodied Burgundian excellence for nearly a century, combining tradition and precision.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marl soils of the Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir reveals its mineral depth and nobility.
- Vinification : Ageing in new oak barrels, respectful of the fruit, for wines of taut elegance and saline length.
Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru 2020
To the eye – A deep purple robe, of a silky density, where the light reflects with a chalky intensity.
On the nose – First notes of morello cherry and fresh blackcurrant, then nuances of violet and damp undergrowth, before a saline touch underlines the minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A precise, almost austere attack, which blossoms into a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral finish of remarkable length.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
