Château Coutet 1989, from Barsac-Sauternes, blends Sémillon (80%) and Sauvignon Blanc (20%) on clay-limestone soils. Its indulgent nose — crème brûlée, candied citrus — gives way to an unctuous yet lively palate with accents of honey and spice. Perfect with foie gras or aged cheeses.
A historic estate rooted in the golden lands of Barsac, where the art of luscious elegance has been passed down since the 17th century.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and gravelly soils of the Sauternes appellation, bathed by the Ciron, which encourages noble rot and concentrates the aromas.
- Vinification: A meticulous blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, aged with patience to reveal a precise sweetness and a chalky minerality.
