The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 1988 from Domaine Armand Rousseau, born in the Côte de Nuits, on limestone soils. This Pinot Noir offers aromas of cherry, spice and undergrowth, aged in barrels. Velvety texture, lively freshness and minerality. Ideal with a porcini risotto or roasted lamb.

- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and gently sloping plots in the Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir reveals its full depth.
- Vinification: A traditional approach, combining patience and precision, for cuvées of rare elegance and assertive minerality.
Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 1988
To the eye: A ruby robe with tiled reflections, of silky density, betraying at once the maturity and the preserved freshness of time.
On the nose: A bouquet blending candied dark fruits, notes of liquorice, a hint of damp undergrowth and a subtle touch of graphite, like an echo of the chalky soils of Gevrey-Chambertin.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline minerality, while the tannins, still present, stretch into a remarkably long finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
