Tasting notes for Domaine des Tours 2019
Appearance – A deep ruby color with garnet highlights, a silky texture and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First, notes of sour cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of licorice and dried thyme, before a subtle salinity evokes the estate’s stony soils.
On the palate – A direct, juicy opening, lifted by lively acidity and chalky minerality, while supple tannins envelop the palate with elegant roundness. The long, taut finish brings hints of black pepper and garrigue.
Serve at 15–16°C in a Bordeaux-style red wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
2019 vintage
A generous vintage marked by a rare balance of ripe fruit and mineral freshness, typical of the great wines of the southern Rhône.
- Aging potential: 10 years or more; store in a cool cellar (12–14°C), away from light.
