Tasting notes for the Domaine des Tours Merlot 2006
To the eye: Garnet robe with brick-red reflections, of a silky density and a brilliance subtly veiled by time.
On the nose: Aromas of candied morello cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice, lifted by a hint of aged leather and a saline note reminiscent of Provençal garrigue.
On the palate: Velvety texture, melted but still present tannins, lively acidity balancing a chalky minerality, for a long and harmonious finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
