The Château Mouton Rothschild 2017, a jewel of Pauillac, reveals the gravelly soils of the Médoc. At 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine offers notes of blackcurrant, liquorice and violet, with silky tannins. Aged in oak barrels, it keeps until 2050 and pairs with game and hard cheeses.
Pauillac, jewel of the Médoc, where the Rothschild family has crafted exceptional wines since 1853, combining heritage and artistic boldness.
- Terroir : 90 hectares of deep gravels on a clay-limestone subsoil, signature of the great Pauillacs, where Cabernet Sauvignon flourishes in power and minerality.
- Vinification : Manual harvesting, aging in new French oak barrels – a quest for precision and elegance, without compromise.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2017
On the eye – A deep garnet robe, dense and luminous, like liquid velvet with ruby reflections.
On the nose – First notes of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, then hints of faded violet, black pepper and a saline touch, like a sea breeze over the gravels of the Médoc.
On the palate – The attack is lively and precise, carried by a taut acidity and silky, almost chalky tannins. Black fruits intertwine with nuances of cedar and liquorice, for a long, mineral finish of rare elegance.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
