Tasting notes for Domaine Ponsot Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes 2000
In the glass: Deep garnet robe with brick-red reflections, of a dense and velvety texture, betraying a fully achieved maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherry, dried rose petals, damp undergrowth and black truffle, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of aged leather.
On the palate: A silky attack, melted yet present tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality that carry a long and precise finish, where gentle spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
A generous and well-balanced vintage, marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, today offering a harmonious expression of fruit, spice and minerality.
- Aging potential: Drink now or cellar until 2030, under ideal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
