This Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2011 from Domaine Dujac reveals the richness of the limestone soils of Morey-Saint-Denis. This Pinot Noir, vinified with whole clusters, combines red fruits, spices and undergrowth with a silky, mineral texture. Worth cellaring to sublime red meats or refined dishes.
Founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, this family estate embodies Burgundian excellence, rooted in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis.
- Terroir: Limestone and marl soils of the Côte de Nuits, where the Grand Crus reveal a chalky minerality and a unique depth.
- Vinification: A respectful approach – whole clusters, indigenous yeasts, and barrel aging for wines of silky precision.
Tasting notes for Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2011
To the eye – A garnet red robe with dense, almost velvety reflections, betraying a generous substance and accomplished maturity.
On the nose – First, tart red fruits (redcurrant, Morello cherry), then darker notes of wild blackberry, before opening onto spicy touches (black pepper) and a subtle ferrous minerality, like an echo of the limestone soils.
On the palate – A silky yet taut texture, driven by a lively acidity and a tannic structure that remains slightly austere, stretching into a saline and persistent finish marked by a hint of graphite.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its complex aromas.
