Thomas Batardière presents this Chenin Blanc 2020 from the schistous hillsides of Anjou. From vines dating back to 1958, aged in barrels then in stainless steel, it offers aromas of pear and white flowers, a saline palate and a chalky finish. Perfect with shellfish or goat's cheese, to be kept for 5 to 8 years.

In the eye: Golden robe with pale reflections, of a silky clarity and a chalky density that heralds its minerality.
On the nose: Aromas of yellow plum and ripe pear intertwine with notes of nashi and dried white flowers, lifted by a saline touch and a characteristic mineral reduction.
On the palate: A texture that is both supple and taut, where the acidic tension carries flavours of crisp apple, candied lemon and a hint of unsweetened honey, leading to a saline and persistent finish.
Serve between 10 and 12°C, in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to enhance its complexity.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights preserved the acidity and mineral tension of the Chenin Blanc.
