- Winemaking: A rigorous selection of grape varieties and ageing in French oak barrels, for cuvées of harmonious structure and long persistence.
Tasting notes for Château Margaux 1994
To the eye – A garnet robe with tawny reflections, dense and luminous, betraying a silky maturity and generous substance.
On the nose – First aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of liquorice, cedar and a floral touch of violet, all lifted by a mineral hint of graphite.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by vibrant acidity and a melted tannic framework, where candied dark fruits, sweet spices and a saline finish of remarkable length intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass, after decanting for two to three hours to release its full complexity.
