Tasting notes for Château Margaux 1998
- To the eye : A deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance.
- On the nose : First, aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by hints of cedar, golden tobacco and a touch of graphite, all lifted by a subtle salinity.
- On the palate : A silky attack, carried by a lively acidity and a fine tannic structure, where dark fruits, gentle spices and a chalky minerality intertwine, leading to a remarkably long finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
