Château Latour
A historic estate rooted in the heart of Pauillac, Château Latour has embodied the excellence of great Bordeaux wines since the 17th century.
- Terroir: Deep gravels and clay-over-gravel soils of the Médoc, lending the wines a mineral structure and remarkable longevity.
- Vinification: A precise blend of noble grape varieties, aged in French oak barrels for an expression that is at once powerful and refined.
Tasting notes for Château Latour 1988
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, blonde tobacco and undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate: Velvety attack, fine and tight tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish, carried by a remarkable tension.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
