The Château Mouton Rothschild 2018, Premier Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac, is a blend in which Cabernet Sauvignon (86%) dominates. Born on deep gravels, it offers aromas of blackcurrant and spices, a broad palate and velvety tannins. A wine for ageing, perfect for enhancing great dishes.
A symbol of excellence in Pauillac, this family estate has embodied the alliance between winemaking tradition and artistic boldness since 1853.
- Terroir : 82 hectares of pebbly gravel over a clay-gravel subsoil, at the heart of the Pauillac appellation, where Cabernet Sauvignon reveals its mineral power.
- Vinification : Aged in new oak barrels, a precise blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, producing wines of silky structure and remarkable longevity.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2018
- To the eye : A deep, dense and lustrous black robe, like liquid velvet with purple highlights.
- On the nose : First, sun-drenched black fruits — blackcurrant, wild blackberry —, then gentle spices (nutmeg, star anise), a touch of fresh mint and a subtle mineral salinity, like an echo of Pauillac's gravels.
- On the palate : The attack is broad and round, carried by silky tannins and a vibrant tension; the texture, both creamy and chalky, gives way to a long finish where freshness, spice and a persistent minerality intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to unlock its full complexity.

- Aging potential : To be cellared for 20 to 40 years in a cool (12-14°C), humid cellar, away from light.
