Born on the gravels of Pauillac, the Château Latour 2003 is a Premier Grand Cru Classé with a generous profile. Aged in French oak barrels, it unveils black fruits, spices, and tobacco. Its dense and precise palate reveals melted tannins. Perfect until 2050, it enhances lamb or truffle.
Château Latour
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this Premier Grand Cru Classé has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries, combining family heritage and viticultural precision.
- Terroir : Deep gravels on the historic Enclos, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives under a temperate oceanic climate, shaping wines of unmatched minerality and structure.
- Vinification : A rigorous parcel selection and aging in new French oak barrels, for cuvées that are both powerful and of rare elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Latour 2003
To the eye – A deep garnet-red robe, dense and luminous, with still-vivid reflections, betraying a generous substance and a silky texture.
On the nose – First, aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, blond tobacco, and a touch of graphite, all lifted by a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate – A broad and velvety attack, carried by fine and close-knit tannins, a precise acidity that provides beautiful tension, and a long finish, marked by hints of licorice and cocoa on a chalky base.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2003
A sun-drenched vintage, where exceptional heat concentrated the fruits and softened the tannins, yielding a wine that is both rich and highly harmonious.
- Aging potential : To be kept until 2050 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
