The Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2023 from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Pinot Noir sourced from calcareous soils and biodynamic viticulture. Aged without new oak, it combines notes of plum and blackberry with a ferrous minerality. Its dense and fresh palate pairs well with roasted meats after 3 to 5 years.

To the eye: Deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, lifted by notes of violet and peony, then a saline and ferrous touch reminiscent of the chalky terroir.
On the palate: A dense and velvety attack, supported by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish marked by a subtle bitterness.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
