The TOP winemakers of Champagne Winemaker

it currently extends over 12 Ha (11.5 Ha of Chardonnay with 0.5 Ha of Pinot Noir) and lies at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, predominantly in Avize, Oger, Cramant, and Oiry — Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs. The chalky soil, specific to the Côte des Blancs, is ideal for cultivating the Chardonnay grape variety, best known for bringing freshness, elegance, and finesse to wines. Comprising 50 plots, some of which are over 65 years old, the average age of the vineyard is around 40 years. As a grower-producer, Pascal Agrapart, who now runs the estate, practices viticulture that is respectful of the natural environment. He has expanded the estate's range of Champagne wines by developing several single-vineyard cuvées, often representative of a certain Champenois minerality, delivering pleasant, saline, and persistent finishes. These Champenois cuvées are lightly dosed and of an excellent level, whether it is the 7 Crus cuvée (from a blend of 7 villages), the Terroirs cuvée (Blancs de Blancs Grands Crus, aged 4 years on the lees), or the rare Complantée cuvée (a co-planting of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbane, Petit Meslier, and Chardonnay on the Avize terroir). The Minéral and Avizoise cuvées complete the range, along with 2 prestige cuvées: Vénus, of very great fruity delicacy, and EXP 12, of particularly remarkable intensity. Finally, it should be noted that the majority of cuvées benefit from oak aging, and that the Champagne wines here are very lightly or not dosed at all. Certain cuvées (Minéral, Avizoise, or Vénus) are suited for ageing (8 to 15 years) and require patience in order to reveal their full complexity. The quality-to-price ratio is remarkable, and true enthusiasts are well aware of this, as the reputation of Maison Agrapart continues to grow, with an annual production of approximately 90,000 bottles representing a limited volume of available wines.
