The Pétrus 2014 from Pétrus, shaped by the blue clay of Pomerol, expresses Merlot (96%) with elegance. After 20 months in new barrels, it reveals aromas of blackberry and minerality, a silky texture and a precise freshness. Ideal for cellaring until 2040, it pairs beautifully with game and cheeses.
Nestled at the heart of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a family terroir where heritage and precision intertwine. An estate where every bottle tells the story of a rare alliance between man and the land.
- Terroir : 11.5 hectares of unique blue clay, the cradle of the purest Merlots in Bordeaux, shaped by an ideal microclimate and a gentle elevation of 40 metres.
- Winemaking : Meticulous aging in new oak barrels, where patience and respect for the fruit reveal an effortless elegance, the signature of a style that is both powerful and silky.
Tasting notes for Pétrus Pétrus 2014
- To the eye : A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and luminous, like liquid velvet capturing light with rare intensity.
- On the nose : First, aromas of wild blackberry and fresh violet, followed by a hint of liquorice and cocoa, before a subtle chalky minerality anchors the bouquet in an earthy depth.
- On the palate : A smooth and precise texture, carried by a lively acidity and a remarkably fine tannic structure, where notes of dark fruits, gentle spices and a long, persistent saline finish unfold.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
