This Meursault Premier Cru Charmes 2007, from clay-limestone soils, expresses the elegance of Chardonnay. Aged in oak barrels, it reveals aromas of roasted almond and brioche. On the palate, lively and silky, with a chalky minerality. Ideal until 2018 with white meats or fish.
A family estate founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin embodies Burgundian excellence – a legacy of precision and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: The vines of Meursault Premier Cru Charmes are rooted in clay-limestone soils, where chalk and clay shape wines of chalky minerality and silky elegance.
- Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels (20 to 25% new barrels), with manual harvesting and a biodynamic approach to preserve the purity of the Chardonnay.
To the eye: Golden robe with pale reflections, of a smooth and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of warm croissant and fresh almond, followed by notes of roasted dried fruits, fine spices and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate: Round and silky attack, carried by a lively and precise acidity, with a chalky minerality that stretches into a long and flavourful finish, evoking brioche and almond paste.
Serve at 13°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by a balanced maturity, where freshness and richness blend in harmony.
- Ageing potential: To be kept until 2022 under optimal conditions (cool and humid cellar, away from light).
