Sourced from the chalky soils of Ruchottes-Chambertin, this Grand Cru 2014 from Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a Pinot Noir aged 18 months in barrels. Wild berries, spices and minerality on the nose; silky palate, noble tannins and a taut finish. Perfect until 2028 with red meats or cheeses.
Heir to a family expertise dating back to 1933, this Burgundian estate embodies the elegance of the great wines of the Côte de Nuits, shaped by two passionate sisters.
- Terroir: Prestigious plots — Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Ruchottes-Chambertin — where thin, stony soils sculpt wines of rare precision.
- Vinification: A respectful approach, combining tradition and modernity to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2014
To the eye: A cherry-red robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture, like a ruby polished by time.
On the nose: An airy bouquet where fresh wild berries blend together — wild blackberry, morello cherry — with notes of gentle spices and a mineral touch reminiscent of the chalk of the Burgundian hillsides.
On the palate: A lively, precise attack, carried by silky tannins and a saline tension that guides a long, chalky finish, where a classical elegance unfolds.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2014
A vintage marked by balanced maturity, where freshness and concentration unite to deliver a wine of great harmony.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2050, provided it is stored under optimal conditions — a cool cellar, away from light and vibrations.
