From the stony slopes of Ruchottes-Chambertin, this Grand Cru 2015 from Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is a Pinot Noir aged 18 months in barrels. Forest fruits, spices, silky texture and chalky minerality. To be kept 10 to 20 years, it pairs beautifully with duck confit or local cheese.
Heir to a family expertise since 1933, this Burgundian estate embodies the exacting standards of the great crus of the Côte de Nuits.
- Terroir: Exceptional plots – Ruchottes-Chambertin, Clos Vougeot, Echezeaux – where calcareous soils and ideal exposures sculpt wines of rare precision.
- Vinification: A respectful approach to Pinot Noir, combining tradition and modernity to reveal the purity of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2015
To the eye – A deep cherry robe with garnet reflections, of a silky texture and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – A bouquet blending fresh raspberry, wild blackberry, a hint of liquorice and a subtle gunflint note, carried by a mineral elegance.
On the palate – A velvety attack, a lively and precise acidity, smooth yet structured tannins, and a long finish where aromas of undergrowth and chalky salinity unfold.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2015
A sunny and generous vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes is combined with a preserved freshness to offer a wine of great harmony.
- Ageing potential: Store for 10 to 20 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from vibrations.
