The Champagne Les Grandes Côtes Extra Brut by Pierre Gerbais expresses the clay-limestone terroir of Celles-sur-Ource. This Blanc de Noirs 100% Pinot Noir, aged 36 months on lees, captivates with its elegant bubble, notes of raspberry and citrus, and firm minerality. Pairings: seafood or roasted poultry.
A family estate rooted in the Côte des Bar, where four generations cultivate the art of Champagne with respect for the terroir and traditions.
- Terroir: Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils of Celles-sur-Ource, southwest-facing, for mineral and structured wines.
- Vinification: Sustainable methods, indigenous yeasts, and extended aging on lees for a pure and vibrant expression.
Tasting notes for the wine Pierre Gerbais Les Grandes Côtes Extra Brut
To the eye – A pale golden robe, of a silky texture and a fine and persistent effervescence, like a veil of light on the glass.
On the nose – Fresh aromas of crunchy raspberry and blood orange mingle with deeper notes of toasted bread, before a saline touch recalls the chalky origin of the terroir.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and saline finish, where the elegance of a Champagne that is both structured and refined takes shape.
Serve between 8 and 10 °C in a Champagne flute to preserve its freshness and effervescence.
Non-vintage
A harmonious blend of base wines and a perpetual reserve, reflecting the consistency and complexity of a unique terroir.
- Aging potential: To enjoy now or to keep for 3 to 5 years in a cool cellar away from light.
