The Pierre Gerbais La Loge Pinot Blanc Extra Brut, sourced from Kimmeridgian soils, reveals the Pinot Blanc of octogenarian vines. Aged 36 months on lees, this non-vintage champagne combines freshness and minerality, with an Extra Brut dosage (3 g/l). Ideal with cheeses or grilled fish.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of the Aube, where time sculpts champagnes of rare authenticity.
- Terroir: Kimmeridgian soils of Celles-sur-Ource, the cradle of a chalky minerality and a unique saline tension in Champagne.
- Vinification: An artisanal and perpetual approach, where the solera reserve interacts with base wines aged in stainless steel, for a pure expression of Pinot Blanc.
Tasting notes for Pierre Gerbais La Loge Pinot Blanc Extra Brut
To the eye – A pale gold robe with green highlights, of silky clarity, traversed by a fine and persistent effervescence.
On the nose – Aromas of crisp green apple, hawthorn blossom, and candied lemon zest intertwine with a saline touch, like a sea breeze over warm stones.
On the palate – A smooth and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a saline finish of elegant length.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to fully release its complexity.
Non-vintage
A cuvée where time stands still, blending the freshness of base wines with the depth of a perpetual reserve dating back to 2011.
- Aging potential: 5 to 8 years, to be stored in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light.
