The Château Calon Ségur 1982, a jewel of Saint-Estèphe, comes from gravelly and clay soils. This Third Grand Cru, aged in oak barrels, offers aromas of leather, cedar and candied fruits, a silky palate and a mineral freshness. Ideal with game or cheese, to be enjoyed until 2042.
Château Calon Ségur
A historic estate of Saint-Estèphe, rooted in the Médoc since the 18th century, where the gravelly terroir and the legacy of the Marquis de Ségur shape wines of structured elegance.
- Terroir: Deep gravel over clay subsoil, typical of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, imparting a characteristic minerality and tension to the wines.
- Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels, with extended maceration and traditional fining for precise, well-balanced cuvées designed for cellaring.

Tasting notes for Château Calon Ségur 1982
To the eye – Deep garnet robe with brick-red hues, of a silky density and a preserved brilliance despite the decades.
On the nose – Aromas of candied dark fruits, aged cedar, worn leather and blonde tobacco, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of bitter cocoa.
On the palate – Velvety texture, melted yet still present tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality, with a long and harmonious finish, carried by notes of liquorice and soft spices.
Serve between 16°C and 17°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its tertiary bouquet.
Vintage 1982
A sunny and generous vintage, marked by a rare balance between fruit ripeness and mineral freshness, typical of the great wines of Saint-Estèphe.
- Ageing potential: At its peak, this wine can still be cellared until 2042 under optimal conditions (cool cellar, away from light and vibrations).
