The Château Mouton Rothschild 2009, Premier Cru Classé from Pauillac, originates from deep gravel soils. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (88%) and Merlot, aged in new oak barrels. Nose of blackcurrant, cedar and spices, a full palate with silky tannins. A wine for ageing, a perfect match for lamb or aged cheese.
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this mythical estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 19th century, combining family heritage with artistic innovation.
- Terroir : 82 hectares of pebbly gravel soils in the Pauillac appellation, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives on a clay-gravel subsoil, lending the wines a distinctive minerality.
- Winemaking : Ageing in new oak barrels and meticulous blending, for cuvées of rare precision and elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild 2009
- To the eye : A deep red robe with violet hues, dense and silky, heralding a generous substance and a harmonious structure.
- On the nose : A complex bouquet in which ripe black fruits – blackberry, blackcurrant – mingle with notes of cedar and blond tobacco, lifted by a spicy touch and a subtle mineral salinity.
- On the palate : A velvety attack, carried by fine and enveloping tannins, a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a long and persistent finish, marked by a taut elegance.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
