Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild Lafite Rothschild 1998
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet highlights, dense and silky, like liquid velvet that already announces the richness of the wine.
On the nose – First aromas of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, blonde tobacco and a hint of graphite, all lifted by a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate – A smooth and taut texture, where lively acidity and chalky minerality balance with fine tannins and a persistently long finish, carried by nuances of liquorice and gentle spices.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.

A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering a perfect balance between power and finesse, typical of the great wines of Pauillac.
