The Krug Grande Cuvée 168ème Édition Magnum, born from the chalky terroirs of Champagne, is a blend of 198 wines from 11 vintages, including 42% reserves. Dominated by Pinot Noir, combined with Chardonnay and Meunier, it reveals a golden robe, aromas of flowers and dried fruits, and a silky palate with a mineral finish. To be kept for 10 years, it pairs beautifully with lobster or fine poultry.
A family House rooted in Reims since 1843, Krug perpetuates a heritage of patience and precision, where each cuvée is born from a dialogue between terroirs and vintages.
- Terroir: The vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne, with their chalky and calcareous soils, shape grapes of unique minerality and tension.
- Vinification: A meticulous blend of more than one hundred wines, aged in oak barrels and patiently assembled to reveal a complex and timeless harmony.
Tasting notes for the Krug Grande Cuvée 168th Edition wine
To the eye – A deep and luminous golden robe, where fine and persistent bubbles dance, betraying a silky texture and a crystalline elegance.
On the nose – First, fresh notes of white flowers and candied citrus, then deeper aromas of dried fruits, marzipan and toasted brioche, lifted by a saline and mineral touch.
On the palate – A rich and full-bodied attack, carried by a creamy mousse and a lively acidity, stretching into a long and warm finish where hazelnut, honey and soft spices intertwine.
Serve between 9°C and 12°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to fully appreciate its complexity.
Non-vintage
This cuvée, crafted around the 2012 harvest, embodies the art of blending at Krug, where the mastery of reserve wines elevates every year.
- Aging potential: To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its aromas to develop over time.
