Sourced from the gravels of Margaux, the Château Margaux 2011 (86% Cabernet Sauvignon) captivates with its notes of dark fruits, tobacco and cedar, refined in new oak barrels. On the palate, its silky texture and vibrant minerality make it a wine for aging, perfect with lamb or aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of the Margaux appellation, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 12th century. Property of the Mentzelopoulos family since 1977, it combines tradition and innovation to reveal the quintessence of its terroir.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and gravelly soils of Margaux, endowing the wines with a mineral elegance and a unique aromatic finesse.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend, aging in French oak barrels and rigorous selection for cuvées of remarkable precision.
Tasting notes for Château Margaux 2011
- To the eye : A deep garnet-red robe with silky reflections, of chalky density and crystalline brilliance.
- On the nose : Aromas of fresh blackcurrant, wild blackberry and violet, followed by a touch of cedar and a subtle saline note, evoking the gravels of the terroir.
- On the palate : A lively and precise attack, silky and taut tannins, chalky minerality wrapped in a fruity softness, long and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
