Château Haut-Brion
A noble Bordeaux estate rooted in the gravels of Pessac-Léognan, Château Haut-Brion has embodied viticultural excellence since the 16th century.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, lending the wines a distinctive minerality and a refined structure.
- Vinification: Meticulous blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, aged with patience to reveal balance and complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion 1999
To the eye: Deep garnet-red robe with brick-tinted reflections, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, toasted cedar, blonde tobacco, and damp underbrush, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of graphite.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and persistent finish featuring notes of licorice and candied dark fruits.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
