The Château Mouton Rothschild 2003, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, from clay-limestone gravel soils. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 18 months in new barrels, it reveals notes of blackcurrant, cedar and a silky texture. Perfect with duck breast or game.
Nestled in the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since its acquisition by the Rothschild family in 1853.
- Terroir : Stony gravel over a clay-gravel subsoil, the signature of the great wines of Pauillac, conferring structure and minerality.
- Vinification : A meticulous aging in new oak barrels, combining tradition and precision for cuvées of timeless elegance.
Tasting notes for Château Mouton Rothschild Mouton Rothschild 2003
To the eye – A deep color with garnet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a generous and silky substance.
On the nose – First fresh aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, then deeper notes of cedar, havana and caramel, lifted by a saline and woody touch.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, where ripe fruits, soft spices and a long, harmonious and persistent finish mingle.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
