The Pétrus 2015 from Château Pétrus, a rare wine from Pomerol, comes from a blue clay soil. Made from 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc, it offers notes of blackberry and spices, aged 20 months in barrels. Dense and velvety, it is best enjoyed at 16°C and can be cellared until 2040.
On the Pomerol plateau, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a family terroir, shaped by generations of expertise and an uncompromising pursuit of purity.
- Terroir : A rare blue clay soil, unique to the Bordeaux Right Bank, gives the wines a mineral density and a velvety elegance.
- Vinification : A rigorous plot-by-plot selection and ageing in barrels, where every detail is mastered to reveal the quintessence of Merlot.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 2015
To the eye – A deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose – First, aromas of wild blackberry and fresh blackcurrant, followed by notes of violet, liquorice and a touch of graphite, the whole underlined by a chalky minerality.
On the palate – A smooth and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a discreet salinity, with a long and precise finish, where sweet spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
