Domaine Bart, established in Marsannay-la-Côte at the gates of Dijon, stands among the essential references of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. Heir to the prestigious Domaine Clair-Daü, this family estate cultivated over six generations now extends across more than twenty hectares and produces an exceptional range of wines under the appellations Marsannay, Fixin, Chambolle-Musigny, Santenay, as well as two mythical Grands Crus (Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin Clos de Bèze). Co-led by Pierre, Martin and Odile Bart, the domaine distinguishes itself through restrained vinifications, sustainable viticulture and an authentic expression of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, offering cuvées with a remarkable quality-to-price ratio among the finest wines of Burgundy.

The TOP winemakers of Burgundy

The range is vast in white wines, red wines and rosé wines from the Marsannay appellations (Les Ouzeloy, Les Longeroies, Les Champs Salomon, Les Clos du Roy, Les Echézots, Les Finottes, Les Grandes Vignes, La Montagne, Les Favières), and in red wine from Fixin (1er Cru Les Hervelets), Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin Clos de Bèze in Grand Crus, as well as Chambolle Musigny (1er Cru Les Véroilles) and Santenay (En Bievau). Since 2010, the wines of Domaine Bart seem to have progressed even further in quality and frankness of expression. It is likely that the addition of a new sorting table has made it possible to gain in quality and maturity of the grape through an even more meticulous sorting process. The Bart Marsannay red wines are very good, such as Au Champ-Salomon, archetype of a very lovely pinot noir, with gourmand notes of morello cherry, or Les Longeroies with beautiful depth, fruity but tannic, which will need to wait a little. The Bart Marsannay Clos du Roy is very elegant and refined with beautiful freshness and a juicy, almost blood-like finish. The Bart Fixin 1er cru Les Hervelets is firmer but delivers magnificent spicy notes and cherry pit; it will make a great bottle after 5 years of aging. The Bart Bonnes Mares and Chambertin Clos de Bèze Bart are excellent and refined as desired. In vintages such as 2010, 2015 and 2016, they will provide great tasting pleasure to the fortunate owners of such bottles. The quality/price/pleasure ratios are excellent, which contributes to making the wines of Domaine Bart bottles to seek out for lovers of great red Burgundy at still reasonable prices.
