Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2011
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, like liquid velvet capturing the light.
On the nose – First, aromas of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by touches of cedar, blonde tobacco and a saline hint reminiscent of the estuary breezes.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and elegant finish, where gentle spices and candied dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
2011 Vintage
A vintage of contrasts, where the spring freshness and summer rains sculpted a wine of remarkable tension, between ripeness and vivacity.
- Aging potential : To be cellared until 2035 in a cellar with a stable temperature (12–14°C) and controlled humidity.
