The Château Lafite Rothschild 2011, Premier Cru Classé of Pauillac, flourishes on gravels and fine sands. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, it captivates with its notes of dark fruits and spices. Aged 20 months in new barrels, it combines minerality and silky tannins. To be savoured until 2035 with game.
Nestled at the heart of Pauillac, this legendary estate combines a medieval heritage with the exacting standards of an unbroken family lineage since 1868.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and fine sands on a limestone subsoil, shaped by the Gironde estuary, for wines of rare minerality and elegance.
- Vinification : Rigorous plot selection, fermentation in wooden and stainless-steel vats, extended ageing in new barrels – a quest for purity and precision.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild 2011
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, like liquid velvet capturing the light.
On the nose – First, aromas of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by touches of cedar, blonde tobacco and a saline hint reminiscent of the estuary breezes.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and elegant finish, where gentle spices and candied dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
2011 Vintage
A vintage of contrasts, where the spring freshness and summer rains sculpted a wine of remarkable tension, between ripeness and vivacity.
- Aging potential : To be cellared until 2035 in a cellar with a stable temperature (12–14°C) and controlled humidity.
