The Pétrus 1976, born on the blue clay of Pomerol, is an exceptional Merlot. Its aromas of violet, cedar and undergrowth, refined in new oak barrels, reveal a silky and mineral balance. To enjoy now or to cellar, it pairs beautifully with a truffled pheasant or a shoulder of lamb.

On the Pomerol plateau, the Pétrus estate embodies the demands of a unique terroir and an uncompromising viticultural heritage.
- Terroir: Deep blue clay over ferruginous subsoil, at the heart of the Pomerol appellation, where Merlot reveals a rare density and minerality.
- Vinification: Hand-harvested grapes, aged in new oak barrels, for cuvées of timeless precision and elegance.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 1976
To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and a limpidity preserved by time.
On the nose: Aromas of faded violet, patinated cedar, black truffle and candied cherry, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of soft liquorice.
On the palate: Velvety attack, mineral tension on a chalky framework, long and persistent finish where roasted coffee and damp undergrowth intertwine.
Serve at 61°F in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
