A mythical estate of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies Bordeaux excellence across generations, rooted in a unique terroir where the vine draws its strength.
- Terroir: Rare blue clay soils in Pomerol, lending the wines a mineral depth and a silky structure.
- Vinification: Meticulous aging in French oak barrels, favoring balance and purity of fruit.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 1980
To the eye – Ruby robe with slightly brick-tinted reflections, of a chalky density and a precise brilliance.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry mingle with notes of toasted vanilla, blonde tobacco, and a saline hint of graphite, evoking the minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a smooth tannic framework, giving way to a long and elegant finish, where nuances of licorice and underbrush emerge.
Serve between 16 and 18 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
