Tasting notes for Pétrus 1976
To the eye – Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety texture and a brilliance subtly softened by time.
On the nose – Aromas of candied black cherry, faded violet, sweet liquorice and damp undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a breath of cedar.
On the palate – A silky attack, lively acidity and tannins melted into a chalky framework, carried by a slightly spiced finish of discreet yet harmonious length.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to reveal its full finesse.
